Happy Birthday Mom!!

Today was my Mommy's birthday.. and it was a big one! I'll refrain from mentioning an actual number, but I will say it ended with a '0' ;). My mom is one of the most amazing people I know, she is so giving and unselfish. She's been through more than I can imagine, and came out on the other side still able to smile. Nothing is more important to her than her family, and nothing brings her more joy than her grandchildren. I love you mom, I'm so glad I have you in our life.

Moms has a pet bunny that she loves.. she got him for Christmas and named him Bunny Claus. Gavin (my nephew) calls him Nunny, it's the cutest thing.. he says it like Nuh-Nee. As soon as we start getting close to my moms house, he starts saying over and over again "Nuh-Nee, Nuh-Nee, Nuh-Nee"

Ains became a big fan of Nunny as well.

Nunny was curious about this new small person as well.

Ainsley has a new obsession with shoes.. she's constantly trying to put on our shoes and walk around with them. If you look closely at the 2nd picture you can see how she picks up her foot and tries to put it in the shoe :)

Cousins hanging out, watchin' life go by..

chillin' out on a walk..

Well all, I will continue my stay in Monticello until Tues morning, or Monday night if I decide it will be easier to drive while she sleeps.. I miss my peeps up north and will try and do one more post of my time here.. see you soon!! Love, D&A

"As Requested".. or "I am soooooo tired"

I write to you today from the tiny town of Monticello Utah. My mom's birthday is Saturday, and she decided what she wanted for her present was a week with me and Ains. So we packed up our stuff Sunday night and drove all the way while Ains slept. This meant I didn't have to worry about her while I was driving.. but it also meant she woke up at 1:30am when we arrived and decided she'd had a nice nap and was ready to play some more.

Her loud refusal to be put back to bed woke grandma, who came out to investigate. Grandma's are not good influences on babies that don't want to go to bed, but instead want to stay awake and play with grandma's who haven't seen them in a while. They, who had both been sleeping since about 9pm, stayed up for another hour and played until I had to insist that they both go back to bed.

I think Ainsley finally gave up and fell asleep about 3am. And so of course she woke up at 7:30am, ready to go for the next day.. Everyone else in the house was still asleep, so we went for a walk. We walked down to the little grocery store just as it was opening, and then on to her cousin Gavin's. We had fun bugging Gav, Matt and Janae, who made us waffles, yum! Then back to grandma's for some play then a nap for her.. then a nap for me.. lol.. ya gotta love grandma's.

Later I tested my skills against the Aerosmith Guitar Hero.. On easy.. i ROCK.. on medium.. not so much. The best part of that was watching little 16 month old Gav shaking his booty to the music! He can really get down! He's got some amazing moves. After being fed another yummy meal by the Briggs family, the day wound down to a close.

I'm not sure if it's being in a new place, or just pure excitement to see grandma.. but Ainsley woke up at 1:30am and then at 6:30am.. the 2nd time she could not be convinced to go back to bed.. So I am writing to you at 8 am, her normal wake up time.. having been up for an hour and a half.. so if any of what i wrote is incoherent.. that is why.

Oh, and today was my little brother Matty's 27th birthday. Happy Birthday Matthew!!!
We ate his favorite, yellow cake and chocolate frosting, and then played some kickin' rockband! I love ya little bro! you are an awesome dad and a super bro, and I'm so proud of you!

So here it is.. the new post you asked for :) I will try and keep you updated on the rest of the progress of our trip to the fabulous Monticello.

Our Fourth

Fourth of July was a laid back affair this year. We were thinking we had to go to Vegas so Tom could fix something. Luckily, Tom decided he could fix it remotely, so we were spared the 6hr drive each way and the 115 degree weather.

Instead we enjoyed a quiet lazy weekend at home.. our favorite kind :)
We had yummy hamburgers at Kirty's house and then went with some of her family to Sugar house park for the fireworks.

our little family

Ainsley was enjoying Quentin's head for some reason, lol.

We found my baby sister at the park too! Do we all look related?

Ainsley loves Hallee. Dog Pile!

Happy Independence Day!!!

Saturday we had some bbq, and Ains looked so cute, i had to include a picture.
