First Dentist Appt

Flipping through a local magazine and saw that dentist appts before children are two are free, so I decided to see what Ains would think of the dentist. She didn't get x-rays or anything, it's mostly just to get her used to going to the dentist and to make sure all her teeth are coming in without any problems.

We picked her dentist cuz they had such a cute waiting room play area.

She colored while we waited

The dentist assistant was very nice, Ainsley won her over right away.
When she opened the door and called her name Ainsley ran right over with her arms outstretched for this girl she'd never seen before to pick her up.
I swear, she isn't scared of anything and sees no one as a stranger.

Ains did pretty good. When she had to lay down for the Dr. to look in her mouth she cried,
but it was over quickly and she didn't throw any big fit. She got a new tooth brush and a hippo for her troubles. I was very proud of her. Hopefully when we come back next time and she gets x-rays she'll be less freaked out because we've been there before.

Easter without me

As most of you know, I am currently on the Island of Oahu in Hawaii, far from the mainland and my baby girl Ainsley. (miss you!) My trusty comrade Kirsten 'Kirty' Jenkins is taking such good care of her, I bet you anything, when I come to pick her up on Saturday she's gonna cry and want to stay! When we started planning this trip I totally forgot about Easter and had no idea that's when we were going until about a month or two before we left. So Kirty had the job of making sure Ainsley had a great Easter too. The first Easter she could actually do stuff, and I missed it. Sigh.. (Looks outside at the palm trees and the ocean and feels better, lol). Well, she sent me some great pictures, so I thought I would share them.
Happy Easter lil girl.. we love you!

Tommy the Horsey.. and other adventures

I love to watch Tom playing with Ainsley. He is such a good dad. He can be frustrated or stressed or angry, but as soon as he turns towards her that all melts away. He never speaks harshly to her when he is stressed, he never yells at her in anger or frustration with anything she is doing. Seeing how gently and sweetly he treats her makes me fall in love with him all over again.
She has got him completely wrapped around her dainty finger. He loves her so much, you can just see it. Whenever I leave the two of them together and go run errands or whatever, he always calls me to tell me what cute things she is doing. 'She's so cute!' is probably his most frequently repeated phrase whenever she is around. We sit around and watch her just being herself, and we are amazed by her.
and she adores him too. Often he's the one that gets her out of her crib in the morning and then brings her to me. At least half of the time she does NOT want to come to me, she holds onto him and says 'daddy!'.. and as much as its a pain because he needs to go to work, I know he loves it.. she cries when he leaves, and when she hears the garage door in the evenings she shouts 'daddy!' and runs down the stairs to go see him.

We are away from him for the weekend, and I'm missing him and saw the horsey picture and started writing. Thanks for listening to me talk about my wonderful husband, who I don't appreciate as often as I should.
Love you honey.. see you soon.
