We picked her dentist cuz they had such a cute waiting room play area.
She colored while we waited
The dentist assistant was very nice, Ainsley won her over right away.
When she opened the door and called her name Ainsley ran right over with her arms outstretched for this girl she'd never seen before to pick her up.
I swear, she isn't scared of anything and sees no one as a stranger.
Ains did pretty good. When she had to lay down for the Dr. to look in her mouth she cried,
but it was over quickly and she didn't throw any big fit. She got a new tooth brush and a hippo for her troubles. I was very proud of her. Hopefully when we come back next time and she gets x-rays she'll be less freaked out because we've been there before.

Isn't it nice when it goes smoothly!! My dentist advice... just let them go by themselves. I got the hint that my dentist didnt want me in the room when they told me they would be back in a few minutes. lol But really Jean has never cried and loves the dentist.
i asked my dentist about kaeden (as he has 2 teeth now) and he said to bring him in like that, only several times so he's used to it as a nice time, not a scary time. x-rays shouldn't be bad, they're just uncomfortable.
how was hawaii? we need pics!!
Nice work! From my dental standpoint bringing your kids in young to get used to the dentist BEFORE they have dental problems makes them more comfortable for when they do need a filling, etc. And when your child does have a hurting tooth, don't scare them that the dentist is going to hurt them, emphasize that he/she will make them feel better!
By my estimation the #1 reason people fear the dentist is that their parents either 1-instill this fear in them before going to the dentist by telling them things like "you better brush your teeth or else you'll get cavities and then you'll have to go to the DENTIST!" or 2- not keep their kid's teeth clean enough/take them in frequent enough to the dentist so when they do go the child is in major pain already or needs some major work done. But that's just my biased dental viewpoint =-)
