Crazy Ideas

Tom's always coming up with crazy things for us to do as regards to our living arrangements to save money or earn money, some of his ideas include converting our basement into a separate apartment to rent out, or moving into an apartment and renting out our whole house, or selling out house and buying a much smaller, fixer upper...
Well now we've come up with another idea together, and I actually don't think it's too crazy.. or rather, it may be crazy.. but it just might be the lunatic idea we're looking for.. (anyone get the song reference there?? lol). So what, you wonder, is this new crazy plan? We are thinking of selling our house and buying a duplex. We'd get one with at least 3bd 2bth in both units, and live in one side. We've talked to a realtor, looked at quite a few online, and picked out 4-5 we'd like to go see.
From what we can tell, it looks like the mortgage payments will be about the same as we pay now, and the rent from the one unit should be enough to almost cover that monthly mortgage payment, and Tom thinks if we have steady renters for 3 years we can afford to move out and purchase a home of our own again, and then being able to rent out both sides of the duplex.
I've been doing some research online, and asking around for experiences, and am excited about this possible prospect. We are hoping to go see some of them in person in the next week, so I may have more to report soon. Who knows, this may come to nothing, but it's always fun to have a project. :)

The No Camera Sadness continues

I've been trying to talk to Ainsley and get her to promise not to do anything amazing or super cute until after the first of March, when i can get a new camera. This hasn't really been going over well tho, she's keeps doing cute stuff every day! Dang her, lol. And she's starting to work on crawling! I admit it, she's a late crawler, almost 9 months and just starting to figure it out. She was always more interested in standing. We thought she might skip it all together, and go straight to walking.

But lately, she's been kinda floppin' over from sitting onto all fours and rocking back and forth, like she knew there's something she's supposed to be doing. And last night! She stared pushing her self backwards and made it all the way across the living room carpet to the dining room wood floor, where she lost all traction, lol. It was the most amazing thing for me to see her, she was going pretty fast too! Before I know it, I'm gonna turn around and she's not gonna be where i put her! lol Glad I already put up a gate on the stairs, now I just have to get Tom to start putting little child safety latches on all our kitchen cabinets.

She already trying to get into them from her little walker she got for Christmas. It took her a while to realize she could move around in that, but now she runs circles around the kitchen island. She's so funny to watch, and she's very interested in the garbage can which is right at her height from the walker, so the can spends a lot of it's time on top of the island.

okay, alright, i'm posting!

well, i don't really have a lot to add here, but I've been bugged, so i'm posting. I'm waiting on some pictures from our girls trip last weekend, and then i'll have a great post :). I don't have the pictures yet because another girl took all the pictures. And why was that.. because my camera is on the fritz.. occasionally it will turn on and work for a few pictures.. but generally every time i try to use it, it goes to a black screen with an error code. It seems I've been hard on my electronics lately, they are all trying to leave me. :(
so I guess the hunt is on for a new one. I tend to go for Canon's because I know they work well with my Mac. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. So, I won't have any pictures new pictures to post for a while :( I will leave you with the few I got over the weekend. the last one is Ains and her new best friend, Belle. She picked her out by herself at the Disney Store and gets so excited when she sees her, and has started taking longer naps since Belle's been joining her. :)

What happens in Vegas...

So lil Ains and I just got back from Sin City. We spent the last 2 and a half weeks there, working, playing, getting taken care of, enjoying ourselves and missin' our Tommy.

These pics are of all of us stuffed into the Yukon on our way for a quick shopping trip to H&M (woohoo!) It took the biggest car they owned to get Anna, Shana and our kids and Kathryn. There was not room for one more person. Next grandchild or sister in law, and we'll need a super van.. or two cars, lol.

We got to spend the last weekend with my mom and the mumfords. So many of my favorite people in one place! And Ainsley took her first piano lesson :) Here's a cute little video of her playing a duet with Kyle.
