Well, update on the crazy Ains.. she had her 15 month appointment recently. She's still in the 75th percentile for height. However, she has totally fallen off the scale for her weight, less than 1 percentile! She is a skinny minny! Her Dr. thinks it is partly to do with my family's tiny baby genes, and partly to do with the fact that the girl WON'T drink milk. Seriously. I've tried regular, soy, lactaid, chocolate, strawberry, banana and orange flavors. She just doesn't like it. If I give it to her in a cup she can't see thru, she will take one sip, make a face and push it away. If I give it to her in a cup she can see into.. she won't even try it. She does like yogurt and ice cream, so I'm focusing on trying to getting as much of that into her as possible. (I'm open to any and all suggestions)
Besides that, she's doing great. Developmentally, she's doing everything she's supposed to and more. She's a little monkey that climbs all over the place. She's also picking up new words. As of today she says 'Mama, Dada, Uh-Oh, Shoe, Juice, Ball, Wee!, Woah, No, Hi, and Bye'. She also says a lot of craziness, that sounds like gibberish to us, but I'm sure she takes very seriously. Well, there's the baby update for those inquiring minds that wanted to know.
Ainsley LUVS swinging. What little kid doesn't??

Hangin' with her Peeps. Sadie and then Sadie and Ethan

Aw...Danielle...I'm sorry! That's a bummer. I hate it when they won't eat what they're supposed to. Maybe you could try goat milk (it's in all the grocery stores, you just kinda have to hunt for it). You could also try Pediasure...it's made from water with a little milk in it and it is FULL of calories. OR, if those don't work, you could buy some powdered milk (NOT the nonfat kind), and mix it in with her food. She'll never know the difference (hopefully). :) Hope you find something that works! Keep at it and good luck! Love you!
Oh...and I think there's rice milk too :)
Thanks Di :), I've actually tried all the flavors of Pediasure too. (All 5!) But I hadn't thought of powdered milk. I have been mixing cream into anything I can, even scrambled eggs! I'll have to look for fatty powdered milk :) thanks!
She's so cute. Maybe she's just going to be a petite little lady!
You're welcome! I hope it works. I thought of something else you could try...give her a straw. One of my kids (can't remember which)didn't want to drink something (can't remember what), but when I game him a straw, he slurped it right up! Of course, it all depends if Ainsley is a straw weirdo...which my kids were. They'd drink anything through a straw. Also, if she doesn't mind drinking stuff that's cold, you could make her smoothies with a little milk, some sherbet, and fruit. Mmmmm...smoothie. Now I want one! ;) Anyhoo, I think I'm done now :) Have a great Sabbath!
Kids can be so stubborn. She is a doll:) I am glad she will be here for Ella's b-day bash!
I think she gets the milk thing from me, the only way I like milk is when it's in my cereal! Other than that, no thank you!
Funny, Kyle lost weight too. He drank a lot of pediasure, but you already tried that.Hmm, make her eat chocolate!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I want yummy chocolate. She should also eat cake, cupcakes and Cherrios! Wait, then she'd lose something else........
Come on cute Ainsers, put on some weight babe! :)
Well, my "baby" just turned nine, and he was exactly the same way about milk when he was Ainsley's age. And he still hates milk or any milk product - even ice cream. We try to trick him all the time, and he knows. He tells everyone he is lactose intolerant. And he even has water on his cereal. You might not change this about her!
By the way, she just keeps getting cuter everyday! Adorable!
Zack saw the picture of ains on the swing and started saying "weeeeee!" he misses his girlfriend! We need to get together again sometime soon!:)
What a cutie. Good luck getting her to gain some weight. Hope you guys are doing well. Miss you
