She's Two!!
The cutest, silliest, sweetest, most wonderful girl in my world is two!
I still can't believe it.
I still can't believe it.
We had a fun little party to celebrate. There were slip-n-slides and funny sprinklers and a kiddie pool and bubble wands and all manner of fun craziness. The forecast gave a chance for rain, and I was so worried it would ruin our party, but besides being not quite as warm as I would've liked, it was still a great day. The kids still loved the water and had a blast. I'm sad I didn't really get any pictures of the water fun, my camera battery was dying and I was busy running around hosting. I didn't get many pictures at all. Luckily my swell photographer sister in law snapped a couple cute ones, so between that and the few I took I have a decent blog post to give you today. :)
I kind of had a frog theme, frog invites, and water sports.. and i found the cutest frog cupcakes online and decided to try and make them.. in case you are wondering the eyes are made of sliced up marshmallows with chocolate chip eyes. Cute AND tasty!
Blowing out 2 candles!

things i just uploaded from my camera
so.. Ains just woke up screaming at 3am that she was hungry. Lesson learned: strawberry milk does not replace night time mush. So after feeding her some oatmeal and getting her back to bed i am exhausted but weirdly awake... so here you go, a mish mash of recent picture.
Necessity, mother of invention, brings you.. the two sided swing, or what to do when everybody wants to swing at the same time.

Tom proudly took his daughter to the ReAl game.
(Utah's soccer team, for those of you who are unaware.)

She started off very excited about the guys kicking the ball...
and ended up coloring. Fun was had by all.

I love this picture. "Monkey in blanket with me mommy!"
I love that you just see her head and her little feet

i hope you all enjoyed my late night blogging.. birthday post to follow soon, i promise.

Quilting Update
okay... i have officially decided against getting the quilt made.. its a huge project, as expensive as purchasing one and no way to guarantee I'd like the finished product and no option to return it.. And I loved the Brown and Green Etsy quilt.. but I just can't stomach paying that much..
I've found a couple new ones and have narrowed down the old list...
(from most to least expensive)

I have no idea what I am going to pick,.. I find I am not sure at all what my style is at all.. any input at all is welcome!

New #1... picture with green blanket at the end of the bed and green and white pillow shams (sorry, I couldn't get a closer look, you can find a close up here)
New #2.. (same price as #1)
one from before..
(except picture the yellow blanket and pillows as orange.)

To Quilt or not to Quilt..
for my big ol' bday coming up this month Tom's getting me a new quilt for our bed, which I'm picking out of course, lol. I feel like my bedroom is too dark and thought a nice quilt would brighten it up. I really want to get a nice one, but I've been looking around and I'm having a hard time deciding.
I think I want something like this Potterybarn one, but with less red and black, though it's still kind of tempting.. I do like it, and my awesome mother in law could get me a big discount on it, so it might be in the running still.

I went to a local Quilt shop and saw a few there I liked.
There's this fun green one, but it's not patchy like the PB one, and I'm not sure it's what I want.. but then again, I do think it's really cute, maybe I'm being closed minded with the whole patch quilt thing..

or this one was there.. it's patchy, but also kind of blah.. but maybe that's good, cuz I can redecorate my room a lot of ways and still be able to use it... plus, it's super on sale, it's the least expensive nicer one I've found so far (it's half the price of the first two!)

then I ventured online into the world of handmade custom quilts.. thinking maybe we should get something that can be an heirloom we pass down, and boy am I in trouble! I found this one, which I really liked, I talked to the lady and she said she'd be able to make me one a lot like it except with less pink and more green.
She also sent me a picture of another quilt she had just done for someone else.. and OMG, I'm in love! I love how light it is, with the dark browns and greens.. it would be perfect for my room! Problem with these last two.. they are more than twice the first two! I really don't think I can justify it.. sigh.

After all that, and some crafty people telling me to come visit them and they'd help me make one (I wish!! If Texas wasn't so far away!!), and other people saying I should find someone local to make me one.. I looked at fabric at the store and picked out some stuff I thought might make a cute quilt.. tho this is the part I'm really not confident about.. I can see what quilts I like, but I would never have picked out the fabric that went into the quilt.. anyway, here's the stuff I pulled out at the fabric shop to get an idea..

but I think it needs something.. and I had the lady at the fabric shop figure it out, and just the fabric will probably cost about as much as the first two quilts would cost me... sigh.. I just don't know...
I'm getting very frustrated and I need opinion!! Help ladies! Lay it on me!
