a little update

I've noticed I don't talk about baby#2 very much on this blog.. I save most of my whining for my thoughts blog, lol.. but I thought I'd give a little update here, for those who care. :)

Well, I'm now 35 weeks preggers. So weird. It's getting so close. The little one is moving around tons. Almost non-stop. It's good to know she's doing well in there.. but it's hard to sleep while she's squirming, lol. I'm starting to really get ready. I've ordered pretty much everything I needed/wanted to get for her and it's starting to slowly arrive. I love ordering stuff online. Checking the shipping info, waiting for packages.. when they get here it's like a little Christmas every time! :) I still need things like diapers, nursing pads, diaper cream.. it's weird the things you run out of, or forget you need. I feel like I'm learning all this stuff all over again. It's been 3 years since I did this last! So crazy.

We also made another important decision regarding the baby. We've officially picked a name! :)
Our little squirmer shall now be known as Eleanor. :) Little Baby Nora. Don't ask about a middle name.. We still don't know that, lol. Ainsley is getting very excited. I think giving her a name made the baby more real to her. She talks about her 'sister' all the time. She calls her Baby Nora and always wants to hug or kiss my stomach. We had a midwife appt yesterday and Ainsley got to help measure her, and find her heartbeat. While playing with the toys there, she found a little stethoscope and came over to me with it on, and lifted up my shirt and started 'listening' to my tummy. It was pretty cute. The appt went well all around. I'm measuring a week ahead, but I've been measuring ahead for months, and it doesn't really mean anything.. so I'm trying not to read anything into it. She's still head down, heart rate and everything looks good. Here's hoping for smooth sailing and another quick delivery. *crosses fingers and toes*

Besides that, not much else going on. Tom's working away in the basement. His dad came up last weekend for his brother Richard's graduation from USU, and spent a day and a half helping him hang sheet rock. They are almost all the way done and we are having the carpet people in this week to measure and give us a quote for flooring. Tom swore it wouldn't be done before the baby got here (which is what I wanted) but now it's looking more and more like it could definitely happen. Makes me very excited. :) It's been so nice to just be home for a while. We made our quick trip up to see Richard graduate on Saturday, but other than that we've just been sticking around the house. I like my house, I like my neighborhood, I like my friends.. it's fun to just be for a while. :)

Here's us with the new college grad..
I know, I look like a total dweeb, just please ignore it.

Disneyland!

Last weekend we made a trip out to Sunny California as a kind of last hurrah family Vacay before we grow to a family of four. Grandma Baba spoiled us like crazy and took us to Disneyland. THANKS GRANDMA!!

First stop was 'It's a Small World' :) She never made it to this ride last time, so we decided to give it a whirl before the lines got long.
Ainsley loves her cousin Jake.
He's 9 months older than her, and he cracks her up all the time.
"Look, a Mermaid!"
After that, I went to stand in line at the Princesses, and Tom took Ainsley to ride Dumbo. She had a blast and got to ride the carousel too before it was time to meet up with me to get in to see her current obsession.. PRINCESSES!

We rounded the corner, and even tho it wasn't our turn yet as soon
as she saw her Ains yelled out 'HI SNOW WHITE!!'

She got to dance with Sleeping BeautyWaiting to see the next princess.
Jasmine!
We had just watched Aladdin for the first time the week
before with a friend of hers,
so she knew who she was, so thanks Meira!
After the princesses, it was back to Dumbo
then Casey Jr.'s circus train (we rode in the Monkey cage)
We ran over to California Adventure for a couple hours and saw
Donald! Ains loves Donald.
Again, best buds Ainsley and Jake..
they're so cute, I couldn't resist taking another pic
Bumper bugs w/ Daddy
after that we headed back to the Magic Kingdom,
and I went and stood in line for the Princesses again.
There wasn't much else I could, and she was so happy the first time, I didn't mind.

And I was glad I did, because we saw Cinderella!
they had a great talk about Gus Gus and her other Mousey friends.
It was so great to see her so happy.
We also got to see Sleeping Beauty again, which she loved.
It was a long fun day, and she was sure one happy girl.

Happy Easter!

yeah, yeah, I know. This post is pretty late. But hey, it's here now.. lets appreciate that instead of dwelling on the negative, lol.

So.. anyway. Back to Easter..

We colored eggs for the first time as a family! Last year Tom and I were in Hawaii over Easter, and before that she was too young.

This year was a blast! We invited over her friend Brooklyn and their parents (and their twin baby girls!). Ainsley and Brooklyn did great! They had so much fun picking colors and drawing on the eggs with the wax crayon.
In case you are wondering, we decided not to risk staining their clothes, lol.

Our Eggs.
If you look you can see a drawing of Ainsley, her name, and a letter A with scribbles.
The two tone ones are Tom. :)

The Easter Bunny Came to our house!

Ains was pretty excited to check it out.

Tom pretty much got all Reeses Eggs, his favorite. :)
Loves her Chocolate Bunny!
We had Janell & Trent and their family, My sister Roxanne and our cousin (Janell's brother) Dustin over for Easter dinner. We had yummy ham, and cheesy potatoes (thanks Janell!)
and of course I didn't take any pictures of any of it.

I did get a pic of Roxanne after everyone else left.
Ainsley loves her Aunt Roxanne. It's always a blast when she comes to visit.

This year Easter Sunday was the same as Conference Sunday, so instead of dressing up all cutesy, we got to stay home in our pj's.
It was great to listen to the prophets while eating Easter Candy. :)

It was a Monticello March

During my mom's spring break this year my sister Candice and I loaded up the kiddos and headed down to visit her.

It was so fun for all the cousins to be together. Mom pulled out the silly string and they had fun making a mess. I didn't get a picture of that, but then they had even more fun cleaning it up.. and that's when the camera came out.

Wesley (Candice's)

Gavin (Matt's)
Grandma's house is one big toy room.. at least they think so.

Ainsley made this tower.. she was so proud.
Grandma Cinda made me this princess dress!
Princess Video

Chillin' with Gav

My crazy brother.. and his crazy eyesThe Three Musketeers!
They had SO much fun together
Grandma and her boys
It was even nice enough to go to the park on our last day

Fun with Ainsley

Here's just a couple things we've been up to..

Ainsley taking a nap in her big girl bed. (a thought a couple weeks ago that she was ready to abandon naps.. luckily that seems to have been some weird fluke and luckily most days she still takes one. yay!)

Ains has found a partner in her princess passions. We've been able to spend more time with her friend Meira who seems to be just as obsessed with princesses as Ainsley is. Here they are watching Beauty and the Beast at Meira's house.

We had so much fun the other day when she helped me make cookies! She's getting so big, she could dump ingredients in the bowl and stir them up, she was a great little assistant.

Enjoying the fruits of her labor

"Look Mommy, I'm all chocolatey!"
This wasn't funny at the time, but I knew I'd want pictures of it later.. Ainsley had her first attempt at ruining our furniture. I spent about 20 mins scrubbing at it without much luck, then I remembered I had a Magic Eraser. That thing really is magic! The stuff came off like nobody's business! It was amazing. Thank you Magic Eraser. And my unharmed daughter thanks you as well. :)
