Moody Mama

I believe i've been pretty good so far, but with only about a month left to go, I think the hormonal emotional-ness is getting to me. I've been a pretty happy prego, but man, lately I'm getting all moody and weepy. I hope Tom doesn't think I'm crazy or unhappy, i just feel weird. Yesterday I was all worried that I'll never be cute again, and today I am sitting here almost crying because I read a talk on divorce and now I'm worried that 'what if' 'someday' tom and i get divorced. He's asleep right now, and all I want to do is to go crawl up next to him and make sure he's not planning on leaving me in 5 years. lol.. He'd love that.

Anyway, it's weird. To know in your mind there is no reason to be this emotional, and yet you can't stop it. I heard it gets worse for a little while when the baby first gets here, but then again, it's different for everyone, so who knows. Hopefully my sweetheart of a husband will know i'm not actually crazy. It's just the prego-madness, lol.

Nursery in progress

Well here's what we've done so far. We finally finished painting (and when i say we I mean me and Kirty :) and got curtains and a dresser. I got a killer deal on the dresser because one of the knobs was broken. Gotta love stuff like that!

The Butterfly sheer curtain was also a great deal. I was wandering around pottery barn kids one afternoon just for fun and happened to look in the clearance stuff. The colors were perfect and I think it really makes a big difference!

So that's as far as we've done, the crib and bedding is still lost in shipping land or something, and there's a lot of stuff just kind of thrown in there for now. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks everything will come together and i can post picture of a more finished nursery. :)

uh oh

Well our current baby seems to think all this new stuff is for him. We first saw him sleeping in the stroller when we got it a couple months ago, and then after my shower last week he took up residence over the loot, and today I walked into the nursery to find him sound asleep in the pack and play! We may have a problem here! lol I guess we're gonna have to have a talk.

Baby Shower!!

Saturday Kirty threw me a baby shower here in SLC. It was a blast! I couldn't believe how many friends came! I felt so loved! The only hard thing was trying to talk to everyone at once! I wish I'd been able to talk to everyone more. There had been some friends like Andrea and Kelly who i hadn't seen in years!!

Anna was in charge of games so I got out of anything too embarrassing! and I learned that a baby swan is called a signet. :) Janell made me a beautiful cake, and everyone raved about the amazing invitations Diana made.

I got so many beautiful things! Everyone was so generous and so many of my friends are so talented, i couldn't believe the gorgeous things they made! Ainsley is going to be one stylish little girl.

Naked Fred

Well, we're getting ready for the baby, and one of the things we've done is had all our carpets cleaned. It was a fun crazy experience moving all of our furniture off of carpet. Basically everything we own was either in the kitchen, the bathroom or the laundry room. Tom did most of it, as Lavinia and Kirty keep telling me, i'm not supposed to do stuff like that anymore. (Those are the two people who insist on treating me like i'm made of porcelain)

And since we were working so hard to get the house clean and baby friendly, I thought i'd go ahead and get fred groomed again. He gets what's called a 'Lion Cut' where they shave him except for his head, feet and tip of his tail. We did it once a couple months ago to see if it would help Tom, (he's a little allergic, not too bad), and noticed it really cut down on all the cat hair shedding too. Plus Fred looks hilarious! Nice bonus, lol. So Fred was off being groomed at the same time the carpet guy came, so he sucked up all the old cat hair, and we brought home an almost hair free Fred. Maybe Stewart can even come hang out at our house now. ;)

Anyway, now we call him our Naked Fred. He doesn't seem to mind much, or even notice. Of course he hated being left at the groomers, but he's his old self once he gets home. I don't think he cooperated with the groomers very well, or maybe they just did a quick job, but it's not the best hair cut. Oh well, he takes after Tom and doesn't really care what he looks like.
